Presentation
- The Centre for Legislation, Regulation and Legisprudence
(CLRL) aims at the quality improvement of
legislation and legal regulation
- is founded on an interuniversity structure
and has collaborators at each Belgian university
- collaborates with the most important international
centres for the study of legislation
- is based on an interdisciplinary method and
is trilingual
- organises conferences and
international workshops
- publishes the journal Legisprudence. International Journal
for the Study of Legislation
The three pillars of the CLRL are:
- fundamental research on the development of
the theory of legislation, providing solutions for regulative and
legislative inflation. The centre develops reference models
ensuring the regulatory quality as fundamental condition for
democracy.
- applied research leading to the formulation
of policy supporting recommendations.
- regulatory practice aiming at the
optimisation of the relationship between public services and the
citizen. The centre organises short-term intensive seminars for
civil servants.
